I mentioned that on here ages ago, it's more Poch than Levy that got upset though. Toby supposedly shook hands on a deal and Stijn told him not to sign it and they should ask for more.

Yep you certainly did and credit where its due in that respect..........but it wasnt in so much detail regarding his dad and agent being such influences.

I don't buy the dad being the main issue. It's Stijn their advisor

Well if no one is going to buy him now for £25mil from today then he looks set to stay .

Think it suits us to get one more year from him despite his deterioration.

Suits us big time to keep him . Iím delighted if he stays. Sanchez is ok but has never filled me with confidence , and with our ridiculous full back situation it makes it even more important that he stays

Sanchez is the future , he will be the most sought after CB in a couple of seasons time .

I thought all contract talks were off the table, and there was no way he was being offered a new one? Loads circulating he is close to agreeing a new deal? To be fair to Toby, everything that has gone on, he has remained so professional throughout!

His agent, on his behalf hasn't.

We need to be replacing him, not keeping him. His legs are gone and he's never been that great in the air defending. Excellent on the ball though.

Apparently smirked when interviewed about Poch on SSN. Anyone see it?

So we know Mourinho turned his head when he was at United, hence Toby rejecting our contract offers. So if he's now going to be our manager, where does that leave Toby?

I'll actually be disappointed if he signs an extension now and I never thought that would be the case 6 months ago.

I saw Toby on SSN. I don't think it was a smirk. He did mention how he had never been at a club when the manager was sacked before though.

Honestly, for someone who has lost two Champions League finals, had his head turned, and so on, I am not certain it is a case of Toby being any better than Poch.

However, Mourinho could use anything.

So timeline could go something like

- Jose taps up Toby
- Toby refuses to sign contract extension unless slated Utd wages are matched
- We match
- He still rejects
- Woodward doesn't back Jose with Toby signing, so he runs his contract down so Jose can get him for 25M
- Toby and Poch fall out
- Jose sacked
- No one comes in for Toby at 25M
- Poch gets sacked
- Jose appointed with us
- He signs extension

Bit of a home wrecker is Toby lol. But Jose finally gets his man, he just has to go and work for Levy to get the player

Toby is pretty snakey. The main problem is his performances have deteriorated. I don't really care about off the pitch matters if we actually kept clean sheets and won trophies. The problem is we don't.
