After some recent and past spats between members have come down entirely to admins call as to what to do... I think it best we lay out some basic rules that we want the forum to follow. Also as Benno suggested a site manifesto might be a good thing to have.

Reason for this post is I want people to suggest things for both of these. The site for me is about all the members that make up it's core - whether I agree with their views on Spurs or not - and as such I want your input on how we go about things on the site.

Some rules to start us off:

1) Personal insults between members will receive warning and possibly be deleted.
2) Posts that cross the line of decency (e.g. regardng paedophilia, racism, r*pe, murder + etc...) will result in said post being deleted, and member receiving a warning or in extreme cases an instant ban.
3) Warning's that are not heeded will result in a ban.
4) No spamming the forum to promote a product/site/service. Contact us planetspursdotcom@gmail.com if it is Spurs related and we will decide if it is OK for you to post about it. This rule doesn't apply to regular posters who wish to promote something that would be of interest to our users. If your first post is to promote a non Spurs related product or site you will most likely be banned.
5) Fans of all other clubs welcome as long as they are respectful of our members and of THFC.
6) Deliberately antagonising, stirring and winding up of members will result in warnings and in repeat offenders cases, a ban.

Please suggest any other rules you think we need.

Also - Anyone who wants to make suggestions for the site manifesto would be very welcome.

Great idea it's grim when it gets spiteful.

As long as we can still abuse Le Arse though

Looks like agood starting point. Not a lover of silly rules but forums need something formal put in place.

Seems good, maybe make the warnings public for insults

btw why is r*pe censored as it's how the criminal act is called? Remember the Remy story where admins censored it every time it was mentioned. Think it should depend on the context and it's not really a curse word

whoever set up the censors on this board are no longer active so I couldn't tell you mate. None of the censorship bothers me though as it's obvious what the words were and if if not censoring it makes it offensive to some then I don't feel like it's hurting anyone by having a few *s in there.

we can do what we want but never really understood the whole temporary ban thing. Personally prefer warning's + permanent bans.

Warnings can be made public.

Me personally, I would not make warnings personal. Creates a "mob" mentality as well as unintended offensive posts and the warnings they incurr should not be made public.

Glad to see you back, big man - however temporary.

I think it's safe to say we've all missed you.

It looks like we've rooted out the 'bad eggs', and the forum is definitely a better - and nicer place to be!
