Except for the fact that I don't even have to use a firewall or an antivirus and don't have problems at all.

That's a nonsense.

You might not have performance related problems, but no firewall and no antivirus = Trojans

100% guaranteed if you are in any way connected to the internet without those setup you will have dirty little Trojans or malware watching and recording your actions.

Whether someone does anything with the data they are recording is another story.

I have a 24gb 8 core music PC, this has no antivirus, no wifi card and has never been hooked to the internet. That's the only way to keep a PC clean in reality.

The newest laptop is W8 and I really don't like it as it seems so counter-intuitive. Got used to it but still considering converting to W7. .

Download this

http://www.classicshell.net

That will give you the windows start button again. Really good free piece of software.

The only other thing needed then is to disable hot corners. Damn those things are pants.

It's not touch screen Microsoft, what's wrong with you?

I like the look of that RR, thanks. I will give that a go tomorrow when in the office.

How do you disable the hot corners?

Bullguard, Eset

Never said avg!

Depends what your doing with ur PC, but if you use torrents or streaming sites I'd 100000% recommend anti virus

The two I suggested tend not to interfere with homegroup networking and confusing sites like this as showing viruses.

I'm not paranoid, just informed!
