Scored as many goals in his last 4 games (7), as jack wilshere has scored in his whole career :lmao:

Papers are full of it again today
Claims Man City are preparing a world record bid 89+M for dele

Hope the bid does come in so the club can prove a point by turning it down

It's Barca we have to watch out for on Dele

I'd offer Harry Hickford a deal to keep his agent sweet!

I think it would be a bad idea if it was true, he still has a lot to learn plus he would play every week in our team. If we don't kick on in two or three years time, I would not blame if he did leave at that time and the same could be said for Kane.

I agree bad idea but would take a chance on a bet it will happen, vast fee, massive profit< I doubt Mr L would be able to resist.

Apologies all round from Dele. And rightly so, dreadful challenge.

Sky Sports said:

"Dele Alli just said sorry to me and that's nice from him, he's a professional," Dejaegere said.

"We're okay, it's football. I saw the images and it could have been much worse. I don't think he meant it because he came to apologise himself."

Dejaegere was able to continue initially but had to be substituted in the 56th minute when the pain in his knee became more acute.

"I felt it was a really hard tackle but then in the moment, you turn the button and try to focus on the game," Dejaegere said.

"At half-time I felt pain in my knee and also someone showed me the image and then my heart was thumping for a few seconds.

"I tried (to play on) because you're at Wembley in front of so many people, but then I had pain so I had to stop.

"The red card made a big difference because even with 10 they found a free man, but with 11 they would have had even one more. I think it also made a difference in the heads of the players."

Toby Alderweireld said the 20-year-old had apologised to his Tottenham team-mates.

"Of course he said sorry. He didn't mean to get sent off," Alderweireld said.

"Two seconds before someone made a foul on him and he reacted to that but he did not want to get a red card. He is young and I know for 100 per cent he didn't mean (to do it)."

Word going round that Alli got an absolute rollicking from some first teamers after the match last night. The way they see it he cost us the match single handedly and they're not happy. Be interested to know who laid into him as judging by Toby's interview he was defending Alli a bit.

Hopefully he learns from it. I want him to keep his mean streak but he lost control and as a result we're out of Europe for the 2nd time in a season :crying:

But do his appoligies mean anything is he sincere, personally I doubt it very much, and if the team laid into him and they think he cost a place in europe who are we to argue with that? I would agree with them.

He has no sincerety come to think of it, why do i say that? because last time he got a three match ban for punching someone in the stomach he said sorry but it seems sorry is just a word to him with no substance. He will get a ban of maybe three matches for this so he has learned nothing from last time.

What ever happens the players will have to forgive him and move on because if they is barneys going on that would effect the team spirit in the club and without team spirit your not going to achieve anything.

A good clearing of the air can be good for team spirit. If there's no accountability players can get too comfortable.

Sherwood once said of the squad he was managing that they were all too nice to each other. I'm hoping this is a sign that the players will have it out and move on productively.

I don't see a problem with all this, his challenge was a shocker, but it was also unusual to see. He's normally niggly and snarly, we don't see him making leg breaker challenges very often if at all.

He's young and hasn't actually been sent off very often, lets not make a mountain out of a mole hill here. He's not the repeat offender than he's being made out to be.

Peter Crouch did it, not exactly his game either, it happens sometimes.

Ali plays with an edge and accept that maybe now and then he will get himself into bother .
I also think it's not a bad thing if one or two senior pros have dug him out , it will keep his head smaller and feet on the ground.

3 game European ban. Will miss half the CL group stage if we finish top 3. Luckily we'll have Isco covering by then! :P

Alli's quotes about where his future lies

Quote

"It's a fantastic club to be a part of. We're all looking to learn together, build together and be as successful as we can.

"We all want to achieve stuff so it's a good place to be, and I think with the manager we've got here as well I can't see many better places for me to improve.

"You can never say what's going to happen in the future. No one knows, no one can predict it. But for me, it's important that I enjoy the journey I'm on, whether I stay at Tottenham for the rest of my career or if one day I have to leave and it's the right thing for me to do.

"I'm always going to be thinking about what's going to get the best out of me. It's just important I enjoy the journey."

Not quite the "I want to stay here for the rest of my career" quote you'd like to hear from him like you got from Kane and Rose last season, but at least he didn't say "let's see where I am next season". My gut feeling is we get 1, possibly 2 more seasons out of him and if he turns it on in the CL against big clubs and/or we win some decent silverware it'll be very very hard to stop him going to Barca or Madrid for a major pay day and the next big test. When he goes I expect him to be the most expensive player in the world if he maintains this season's form.

He's young enough to sit tight for at least another couple of season's and even without my Spurs bias, that would be sound advice for him.
