Or shoot more. He's great at finding a yard and has a good shot on him but rarely shoots. I don't see why he couldn't be scoring 10 goals a season if he took a few risks.

I've been saying this for the last couple of seasons and I can't understand it. I can't understand why Poch hasn't taken him aside and told him to shoot.
I love Dembo but when he glides past a couple of players and gets in the final third it's almost as if he doesn't know what to do with the ball.

If he doesn't want to shoot or can't see a pass then why doesn't he carry on dribbling? He got a penalty at the Emirates last season when he went on a run. Why doesn't he do this more often? He's one of my favourite players and is on TOP form but sometimes he can be very frustrating.

I actually think that on his day he is as good a dribbler as Hazard but he doesn't have Hazard's finishing. We're very fortunate to have a unique player like Dembo but as you so rightly say he could, and should, be scoring 10 goals a season.

I think he's the best dribbler in the league, maybe even in the world. He's just not so pacy and not using much of trickery, just pure ball controll and strength and his game is not as spectacular as Hazard's, Alexis'etc. but he's deffo more effective than any dribbler in the league (and stats prove it)

But when he's on the top of his game (which he is now) there's no stopping him.

The great thing about Dembele is that when he came to Spurs he could have a great game and few days later he could be the worst player on the pitch loosing the ball all the time and having so many missplaced passes. When he was having a bad game he was having a REALLY bad game. Now it's not the case and he's one of the most consistent players in the team whenever he's fully fit.

Obviously he is very underated so it seems.

I have to admit that I have seen him in a different light. The games Ive managed to see Ive tried basically to track him, and to watch his positioning and where he distribute the ball for someone to run onto is almost uncanny, see him in a whole new light now. :niceone:

Running down his contract and looking after himself.

Possibly he may be consigned to pochs f***-it bucket this season and not used very much.

Hopefully a replacement in the academy can step up ? Amos maybe ?

Negotiating with belgiums isnt restricted to the eu is it ?

Don't believe there's any bad blood with Dembele. He wanted to leave a year ago and Poch persuaded him to stay. If it weren't for his injuries he'd stay in the prem, but we all know he's played through pain for most of his Spurs career.

I was told a while ago we might keep him til January if we didn't bring in someone Poch was happy with. We'll see what happens.

No i wasnt saying he has any issues with the club but he is running his contract down.

Inter came in with an offer of £20 mill and he turned them down ! this is his last contractual year with spurs so summer 2019 he is a free agent.

So to me he,s definitely running his contract down and i reckon levy will be fuming at the loss of £20 mill for a 31 year old player.

As a free agent he will command a pretty good signing on fee even at 32 and will get 2 year contract somewhere.

We are the losers both ways really ! losing a decent player and a decent financial return on him.

Best of luck Dembele. Gutted it had to end like this and that you never reached your full potential but as a fan can say I'm happy to have witnessed live his magic on so many occasions. You deserve your Chinese payday for having played through so many injuries and so much pain for us.

Feel sorry for the league he's about glide through. They won't be able to handle him even in his decline.

Was always quoted by the rest of the squad as the best player. A bit unsung like Scholes was at Man Utd. Good Luck Mousa

Great player for us.

Once we got our head round what he could and couldn't do, we pretty much all saw his talent. But he is definitely a cog in the machine type and shone for Poch turning defence into attack and retaining the ball. AVB and his approach limited Mouse to boring slow sideways passing on the half way line.

Now watch him hit goals for fun in China :lmao:

How Levy has managed to get £11m for a crocked player with 6 months on his contract Iíll never know 🙈

Always loved the way he kept possession and was an important player for us. I was always of the opinion that his style of play limited our attack somewhat as he didnít seem to score or assist and there was a lot of keeping the ball and not a lot of forward passing on his part.

Nevertheless you canít deny he was a class act and did have some phenomenal matches for us. Good luck in China 👏👏👏

6 x years at spurs and a very good servant ! cost £15 mill and at £11 mill return is very good for all those years service.

Wasnt convinced by the final product of those many mazy runs but i honestly think we will miss this player for his energy more than anything else.

Great central midfielder.

Good luck Moussa.

Not that he's played that much this season, but can anyone see us bringing in a player to replace him in January. Quite a bit of talk of Janssen going too so can't see LLorente going back to Spain until the summer.

Shame he couldnt have won something with us but what a great player.
We seem to be coping well without him and as contracts run down you have to cash in ! thats reality.

Not sure we will get much back for janssen but he hasnt had much of a chance.
