Is there any scope for him dropping into becoming a CM? (In a trio)

I just don’t see his value as the CAM or RAM. His pressing and work rate is A+ and maybe his indecisive ball dwelling might be less hampering from slightly central and deeper with more passing lanes to explore.

I’m concerned he is going to be asked to replace Eriksen. And regards my CM suggestion, I’m concerned his hip wouldn’t be up to the task.

At this stage, the fact he is still amateurly one footed is bordering on criminal.

Two injuries ago I noticed he started using his right foot more. Problem is he's never really fit long enough to work on his weaknesses. It's gutting but only option for me is to sell this summer. Can't have such an injury prone player picking up big wages if we're going to improve. He's obviously a fighter, and loves the club, plus his s***housery is fun to watch against rivals.

But we should take anything over 15M for him.

Must agree, such a shame but itís time to say goodbye to Lamela! A loyal servant thatís for sure! Anything over £10m IMO take it

I agree with the above, an ideal scenario is an ambitious Wolves or Watford try to setup a deal for £15-20m.

As we wonít get that abroad.

I think we'd get more from serie A than the prem. Few clubs there throwing money around atm. Wolves wouldn't buy him anyway, he's not Portugese/repped by Mendes

No one will touch him for a fee, his injury problems have been a nightmare.

Yep, missed something silly like 50-60% of his spurs career to unavailability

Even outside of that, I think itís criminal that a player at this level to be so one footed

I like him, I like the unpredictability of his passing in tight areas in & around the box & he is the epitome of pochettinos philsophy but unfortunately he lacks the athleticism & strength to sustain the fitness & consistency needed!
Ideally Iíd like him to stay as he is a very good option to have amongst the squad yet itís hard to argue against the fact heís unreliable & a big wage that for large parts of every season is wasted

Youíve always backed Lamela park. And I respect that consistency

But I think when your bench is 2 CB, 2 wb, a GK, CDM and a target man, there comes a point where the occasionally available one, busy guy with all heart and brittle constitution, who doesnít get a chance for momentum, by his own physical disposition..is detrimental to our cause

The only way we'll shift him is on loan with a view to buy. But even then he'd need an injury free season. Just can't see anyone buying him off the bat.

It's not worked out , his work rate is his biggest asset but he can't stay fit and if you can't stay fit your never get any kind of form.

He's part of the reason we're in the CL. Contributed 3 winners in first couple months of the season which many seem to forget.

When 100% fit he offers a lot more than work rate. we just don't see him fully fit for more than about 10 games a season (except the 15-16 season where he was ever present).

I hear our physios reckon his hip problem is now solved. Maybe just maybe he can stay fit for majority of this season but in Poch's shoes I'd want a more consistently available option.

We don't forget, that's the problem. What we had hoped for when we bought him, we didn't get. A hot young talent high on the list of future world class players. Just hope our latest acquisition of the same potential, same market value in ratio but possibly with greater expectation manages a better return and sell on value.

Been reading a few things on lamela and apparently he started training earlier than anyone else to be up and running for the new prem campaign.

Along with kwp i think this is a big season for him to cement down a place or move on.

I like the player and his work rate is second to none ! its just about him staying fit as everyone agrees.

If thats your opinion then you are entitled to it but i actually believe his positives out weigh his negatives.
