Dele Alli was 19 when he was given the chance to play regularly.
Eric Dier was 20.
Harry Winks was 20.
Harry Kane was 20/21.
Bentaleb was 19.
Onomah and CCV also played some games last season.

If that's not giving youth the chance then I don't know what is. You want to have enitre eleven made of U20s or what?

Not everyone takes his chance (eg. Pritchard) but for Pochettino if you're good enough, you're old enought to play.

Bentaleb was promoted by sherwood and kane was on the bench long before poch arrived.

Of the players you have mentioned only winks has actually broken into the first 11.

Ali and dier were bought players and better than what we had available at the time and remain so.

Onomah and ccv get cameo roles occasionally.

As has been discussed so many times on here we actually needed to buy in a game changer and failed to do so.

Edwards might fit that bill but dont hold your breath that poch will actually give the lad a run out.

Sissoko gets more minutes on the pitch than edwards and is next to useless.

beginning his Norwich career by being ruled out of his debut with a back injury.

Really hoping Edwards can buck his ideas up, get fit, work hard and come back to us a man ready to fight for a first team place. Fact that he's not improved in the last 12-18 months is worrying, hope Norwich loan will be the making of him. Some players need to have actual game time to show what they're about... for example Aguero is apparently lazy in training but comes alive on match day.

You can forgive a proven world class striker, a lazy kid with everything to prove ain't making it.

Tom at the end of the day it is up to Edwards how his Career is going to go, if he is not dedicated it will go the same way as adel tarrat and Ravel Morrison. You can lead a horse to water but you can not make him drink it. I am a bit worried because it looks like Poch has given up hope on him because Malcom and Moura both play in his positon.
I personally feel that Moura will go to Bayern .

Not in the Norwich today, been told he needs to grow up.

This might actually do him the world of good, but only if he's got the brains to knuckle down.

Saw the article from Poch where he said Hotspur way made the young players spoilt due the comfort around them. Tend to agree as they've been given so much so early that they're not prepared to put the real hard work in to make the next step

I will be surprised if Edward will make it at the top level in the future. Hope I'm wrong but I don't expect him to be involved in Spurs senior team under Poch and I don't think he will be a success in the Premier League even if he goes to another club

Norwich City have sent Marcus Edwards back, saying it's personal reasons. Could it be in a polite way, Norwich City saying we are sending him back for bad attitude and disciplinary reasons. If that is the case then for me sadly he is not going to make it 😔.

Could he be the next Taarabt? What a waste of talent. He needs to get his s*** together! He is only 19 so he has time to change but if rumours are to be believed his attitude needs fixing.

Gone on loan to Excelsior in Netherlands for the season.

Hope it's what he needs to develop. He's stagnated last two years.

An easier league for him to adapt to and a chance to grow up by living on his own for a while.

Apparently the lad has been doing ok and seems to have gotten his act together since being at Excelsior.

He,s 20 now and should start growing up regarding his attitude.

Someone described his skill as "bizarre " at excelsior !

Maybe he will live up to pochs "messi " appraisal of him ? :niceone:

I hope he can prove himself as there is a lot of potential there but he needs to add hard work to that too. Otherwise h*ll go the way of others before him. Was just reading an article now about Ravel Morrison if you remember him. Alex Ferguson once thought of him in higher regard than Pogba and hes had a disaster of a career.

Statistically best dribbler in the Dutch league. Not doing enough in final 3rd last match excluded.

Hope he kicks on but suspect he won't make the grade.

Marcus has come out and said his attitude is better now and he wants to get to the top level of football.

He,s 20 and has to kick on.

I reckon academy products onomah and cameron carter vickers will be sold.

But i am hoping from the academy that edwards ,roles & marsh will join kwp & winks into the first team squad.

That isnt a bad ratio really ! if it happens.

That would be a great ratio. Sadly I suspect KWP and Edwards may leave this summer.
