I saw a stat (could be bs but..) that said sissoko was the third best dribbler last yr behind bale and RONALDO.

The guy has ability and dominated the euro final. He is no mug, and is not joining us to swan around flitting in and out the team. This is his time to shine, he is 27 and can't afford to stagnate.

Exactly. personally couldn't care how much we've paid for him. Established solid midfielder with loads of experience. Looked top draw in the euros. Would people really rather save the money and rely on our youth!?? We need real competition for places. Poch isn't a miracle Worker!

the stick he's getting on social media for his "I love Arsenal" interview from a while ago is hilarious. Going to have to step up big time to silence the haters.

Moussa Sissoko recorded more Premier League assists last season (7) than:

Mane (6)
P.Coutinho (5)
J.Mata (5)
Y.Touré (5)
A.Sánchez (4)
E.Hazard (3)

also the same number as Willian, Fabregas & Firmino.

He assisted 16% of Newcastle's goals last season, placing him 7th in the % of goals assisted chart - behind Eriksen in 4th on 19% but ahead of Alli and Lamela in joint 9th with 13%.

So whilst he offers less than Dembele in some ways he could prove more effective at chance creation.

A big plus to this is that poch and Koeman both wanted him and there no mugs

And let's have it right
£30m is peanuts I'm afraid in today's world of football

Levy won't like it but clubs (especially prem clubs) will have to spend more of they're hoarded fortunes to now get players through the door !

This isn't the one I wanted & it will be interesting to see how good/clever he is when playing against sides that are just sat in deep because it's hard to make powerful driving runs with the ball at your feet when everyone's sat on they're 18 yard box

It makes our squad look better with more depth & overall I'm happy we've got him because it was clear we needed someone

£30M is way too much but pretty much everyone is going way over the odds this window and he's what we need IMO.
Pace, power, direct, decent defensively can play CM, CAM or RM. I'd go as far as to say if we'd had him from the start of the season we'd have at least 2 more points on the board.

He's not as good as Dembele at take ons or protecting back 4 but he's a lot quicker. Waynama and Sissoko as a 2nd choice CM pairing is up there with the best in the league.

Decent signing and you have got to give Levy credit for this. He was the best player on the field in the Euro final when you wouldn't have known Pogba was on the pitch. I think Levy liked the fact that the fee was going to be paid in instalments.

You're right about his power and pace. We seem to be assembling players with fire in their belly and I'm all for that because this guy works his socks off.
Spurs have been known as 'softies' for years but now at last, all that is changing.

Yeah, four players in the window and a tidy sum spent. He also got good money for outgoing players. I've never been the greatest Levy fan, (on football matters as opposed to business), but the guy has done quite well this window. A forward with potential, a winger with potential, and two strong midfielders. I'm wondering if Dier is going to be moved back to centre back, his preferred role, for some games in the future?

I suppose some of us would have liked another playmaker but all in all, I'm pretty happy. If Janssen can find his goal touch it could be interesting. Certainly we now have strong players who can defend a lead and won't wilt. Poch obviously didn't like what he saw in that last game at Newcastle. WE seemed to throw in the towel a bit in those last games.

I think Poch's phrase about the team after the Newcastle game was "I wanted to kill them" so you might be right Lonspurs.
I do wonder wtf Mitchell was doing this window. Of our signings Lopez was a Poch target, Sissoko was a Poch target, Wanyama was a Poch target and Janssen was probably the only top scorer in a European league we could afford which leaves N'Koudou as the only one he might have identified?

Anyway, obligatory YouTube highlights to make us think Sissoko is better than he is:
