Seen him compared to Carrick but described as a more mobile version. Not sure he's shown the passing range yet but be great if he becomes as important to us as Carrick was to us/Utd. Huge fan of Winksy

Hope Edwards gets over his injury and makes a similarly impressive debut in due course.

Marcus edwards has posted on instagram a picture of himself with his footie boots on that we have to interpret as that he is back in training.
Think he will be in the running soon for selection.

very much like jack wishire without the attitude and injury free, has everything in his locker to become a top
class preimiership and international player.

What I like about him, along with his obvious ability, is that he seems to have the mentality to be able to play in big games from what I've seen so far. Since coming into the team he has hasn't looked out of place no matter the opposition and his calmness when being put under pressure is very reassuring

Plays with what appears to be an old head on young shoulders, it stood out when Kane was coming through and a good characteristic to see in a young footballer. It's really nice to see it in a CM passer.

Assuming we promote internally.

I think the team will evolve from its reliance on Dembele into a new format involving the energy of Winks.

It's only really champions league bolstering signings in CM that prohibits this boy from being our next Kane/Rose/Walker.

Love him.

Winks is eligible to play for Spain through his grandparents and apparently their FA are tapping him up to see if he'd be interested :lmao:

England tend to absolutely crush our players' confidence so I actually wouldn't mind this! Don't see Winksy being keen though as he's English through and through from his interviews and enjoys the banter with the other players who might think it a bit odd if he lined up alongside Isco, Fabregas and Costa rather than Kane, Dier and Alli

Feared he'd be similar to Tommy Carroll but he's so much better. So composed and plays it simple. I agree with the comparisons with Carrick and what a great and under estimated player he was.

I think he could be better than Carrick. I've said it before but I absolutely love watching Winks play. His enthusiasm and commitment is infectious.

Dembele is irreplaceable for some of what he does but for me Winks could be better in other areas and prove the perfect player to step into his shoes in time.

I would say Wanyama and Winks as a pair offer what Dembele does as one player. This is great if Harry can add more to his game on top.

However Wanyama is less brittle and Winks is a superior passer.

Worst post of the year goes to .....

Winks is miles better mate, bentaleb used to dawdle on the ball too much, used to give it away frequently!....winks' ball retention is top notch and is much more forward thinking

Thrice on the poor post.

Bentaleb, I appreciated his physical qualities but Winks is our boy.

I appreciate the speaking of the mind but I'm protective of Winksie

I also think he will soon be an automatic first choice for us us, and good luck to the guy, he deserves it, and certainly puts in the effort. :niceone:

What I like about this lad is after you look beyond his aggressive hunting of the ball he is actually pretty good technically.

Would not be suprised if he is called up for england next week

Really?! In what way? I haven't seen him get outmuscled or outfought at all, I'd argue the opposite.

Winks will be a one of the first names on the team sheet in a few years for both us and England. I have no doubt about that.

England and spurs' Xavi.

Here's some stats from his last 10 games:
Milwall - 99 passes, 97% pass accuracy
Everton (Played 12 minutes) - 1 assist, 3 passes, 100% accuracy
Stoke (played 24 minutes) - 17 passes, 94% pass accuracy
Gent (played 15 minutes) - 14 passes, 92% accuracy
Fulham - 50 passes, 96% accuracy
Gent - 56 passes, 87% accuracy
Liverpool (22 mins) - 12 passes, 83 % accuracy
Middlesbrough (2 mins) - 2 passes, 100% accuracy
Wycombe - 66 passes, 87%
Man City (25 mins) - 13 passes, 100%

Overall he has a pass completion of 91% in the league at 21 years old. Sergio busquets for Barcelona this season: 90%.

Adeed to that though and watching him with my eyes, his tenaciousness, leadership on the pitch, willingness to win, calmness on the ball and the ability to play out of tight gaps. I just don't see how he won't reach the top level. He'll be to us what gerrard was to Liverpool, what xavi was to Barcelona in importance, hopefully we'll add trophies to that also

Thanks ;)
Staying with my opinion. Winks is a nice player, bents had more potential.

Passing stats are not my favourites. Always have the feeling were more vulnerable when he plays & get more goals against us.

Sharing the hope feeling he could be a Gerrard or xavi, but those are big titles to such a young inexperienced player.

I think he has bags of potential but so does Bentaleb. Different styles of players for me but both have incredible potential.

http://sportwitness....niscent-zidane/ if this comes off the Summer we'll have been mugged off because I'm fairly sure he's officially a Schalke player now (club announced the deal in February). Imagine buying him for £16M mid season when on loan then selling him for £30M at the end of the season... Levy would have been Levyed  :crying:
