Not a Soldado.

However, 2nd in the premier league fouls conceded list after 208 minutes. :wtf: :wtf:

Defenders and midfielders on 450 minutes with less. Llorente is first mind you.

208 EPL minutes - 40 odd of those from the bench. And he's a Soldado to some

Lads, it's far too early to compare him to Robby S!

Janssen may have fluffed a couple of clear cut chances, but give him time. He's most probably got a run of ten games at least coming up, so if at the end of that he looks like a lost soul then we know he's got a problem. I reckon he'll score 4-5 goals in this run, maybe a couple more - that'll be a tidy return.

The couple of shots/chances Janssen has had are reminiscent of Soldado. That's always been my point hence the next Soldado jibe.

Don't get too precious just yet.

14 games approximately. I expect more than 4.

A 1 in 4 striker isn't £18m. I wouldn't be surprised to see him net 5 in 10.

Or fill his quota with a hatrick somewhere. But still provide hold up and assists in others.

90 mins
38 mins (various substitutions)

Let's just see.

Be good for us if he does, and will certainly boost his confidence.

This isn't the only place where frustration is growing with Janssen.

I think it's a joke. He's going to be a 20 goal or 10-10 type of Striker subject to the amount of games.

I think he will score shed loads but it's about the settling in period?

scoring that pen I think will have helped him a lot, lets hope he can go on and score a lot more in open play.

I like Janssen.

At the moment though he doesn't look to be on the same wavelength as any of Alli, Lamela or Eriksen so the instinctive knowing where to be / where to pass to is missing - he runs and the ball isn't put where he wants it, a pass is played but he hasn't seen it. That will take time but will come with at least one of them, and then we will see him score.

Apart from service and understanding, does he have the ability to create out of nothing for himself, like Kane has proved he can do?

He's needs a couple of games. He has that ability. Also, he never let's you down and goes 90 min non-stop.

Give him time. New country, new club, a set way of playing. If any of us upped sticks and was sitting in a Dutch office full of strangers, trying to come to terms with an alien work flow, we'd take time to adjust. He's no different.

Read some "interesting" stuff about the difference in how our pitches are weaved and watered vs other countries making it a completely different playing surface. Partially explains why it takes some players a long time to adjust.

The wrong sort of grass.....lol. It reminds me of British Rail, and excuses from inadequate managers of football teams.

I struggle to think a talented player, let alone an International would find it too difficult to adjust - whole teams come over here and win games all the time.

It is just a fact of life that some players are just slower learners than other, and some just can't adapt and are only suited to a very narrow set of circumstances.

This point is one I did think of when reading but apparently the surfaces are much harder and due to the intense watering before matches the ball runs a lot faster. Some players adjust straight away others don't. Maybe if your whole team is used to it and your not it makes the transition harder than if you come here as an away team? idk

Very different but I play 5 a side and one of the best players I've ever played with personally who played semi pro when he was younger and is used to grass and astro turned up for a game on the concrete pitch we play on and was horrendous. Looked a completely different player.
