There has to be issues, it's been strange to say the least. The rumour mill will be chuntering away but all we really know is that Poch has come across as less than impressed over this.
We kept hearing stories, family issues, injury, time spent at Roma, in training, and now he's having an op. 4/5 months drawing his wages without a step forward is a sure fire way to p!ss people off.
He himself may have got narked over the sissko signing or the form of Sonny. Or, it could all be just a frustrating injury.

One things for sure now is that he has been injured or he wouldn't be undergoing surgery. If there's anything else as well, I'm sure we'll only find out if he leaves. We as a club are f***ing terrible at handling injuries and things like this though, not the first time that players have been out and the supporters haven't got a clue what's going on - we need to sort it out.
I actually think that him having surgery might mean that he's staying. It seems to be one of them where surgery wasnt a must to be done straight away and with him probably going to be out for 6 months or so after (I'm guessing) then it would surely impact a potential transfer, if he was going wouldn't he hold off the surgery for his new club to make the decision? Unless a transfer is already in place and they're the ones who decided ofcourse.
I saw a picture of him with dier and alli as well and he looked distant and just unhappy (pictures aren't always caught at the best moments though). I read some someone somewhat itk that his only friend at the club was Fazio and he hasn't ingrigrated himself into the team well.
If he can get him back fit and actually playing then I'd keep him 100%. His goal contribution per minute played this season (goals & assists) is 2nd only to harry Kane. If we're only going to get 50% playing time like we have been since we bought him then we have to sell

He's had his surgery and posted on twitter that it all went well. Hopefully see him back fit and in the team next season

I do want a fit Lamela in our squad if possible rather than selling him. We were all gettin uncomfortable with the silence.
If we had Ali, Eriksen, Lamela, Son and then one other special attacking player with a bit of direct pace and dribbling
