I love players like Kieron Trippier. A youngish professional at a promoted club. Hard worker, reliable, not fast,not a star, strength being an excellent crosser of the ball.
Looking forward to a season of struggle with Burnley. Taken to a glamour club but prepared to work hard and learn from Pochettino. Ends up rotating with then replacing a player considered the best in his position in the Premiership. Then comes his England call up.

I'm really worried about his confidence I've watched him against Burnley and Swansea and if I'm brutally honest he has looked championship level.

Whether it's he is struggling because these teams are sitting deep and he has no pace or maybe the aurrier signing has dented his confidence I'm not sure, but it's a shame for him because he worked so hard and was excellent to get his chance and now it feels with the arrival of aurrier he is letting his chance slip and will soon be second fiddle again.

He's been injured. Often takes players a while to get back to their best afterwards but I agree he's been average this season so far

Trippier or Vertonghen MOTM yesterday for me, bar the obvious candidates Ali and Eriksen.

think both had better game than Alli. Really don't think Alli had a good game, but the beauty of him is his movement is so good that even when he has an off day he's going to get and create chances!

but yeah Tripps was excellent. Shame he was offside for the first goal as it was a beautiful move.

Kyle who......that's why I wasn't worried when he left. You could see that when Walker was injured Trippier took his opportunity, Walker spat his dummy out and then bye bye.
Walker's pace undoubtedly an attribute but Tripps delivery is one of the best I've seen.

Obviously Kyle playing at CB has helped Trips as removes Trips competition for starting spot but I've been very impressed so far. Well done!

In some ways vindicates Poch's decision to choose him over Walker towards the end of that season. His end product and I've said a few times as much he lacks genuine pace to get past his man most times he's the best crosser of the ball at Spurs and now with England.

Has been top draw and all the plaudits have been well deserved.

Poch didn’t choice Trips over Walker. Walker choose to leave, so Poch then put Walker on ice.

Can’t fault Walker either, he made 4 times the money and won a trophy.

Trips was chosen ahead of Walker for all the top games towards the end of the season that he chose to give up the fight.

Fair play to him for winning trophies but the fact that Trips has been chosen as 1st choice RB for England over him shows Poch was making the right call.

No he hadn't. He said he wanted to leave after the Carling Cup and the Arsenal matches when he wasn't picked. Poch himself says it in his book and said it made him so mad.

How many would pick Trippier in their World Cup team?

For me it would depend on the formation. If the team was based,on 3 at the back with wingbacks, then Trippier would be my first pick.
If the formation would be a flat back 4 then I would go for Pavard of France. This is a player I would get my cheque book out for. Whose going to,start a World Cup team?

Absolutely but I have always preferred him to Walker and been slated for it....my arguement was there is no point being fast if you can't cross for toffee. I think Tripps delivery is quality and clever.

You cannot judge players in tournaments, some players over perform and some under perform. Sissoko is a player our club brought because of his performances in the European championships and Swansea brought Sanchez who looked amazing for Portugal.
