Like us this season the pool have had some odd results, bit like us loosing games that were there for the taking. So i do not imagine this being an easy game for me it has a 1-1 feel about it or a comprehensive win for either side but I am going for another 2-1 to us.

Our record against them is:
P 169
W 49
D 42
L 78
F 191
A 260

Our away record against them is
P 84
W 8
D 23
L 53
F 68
A 158

So as you can see out total record against them has not been good and our away form against them is a bit worse, so here's hoping.

If Spurs play liked they played against Southampton and Newport, no way we are getting the 3 points.

BUT, if Spurs played liked they played against M. United, for sure we will win the game.

My Team,

Lloris

Tripper Sachez Vertonghen Davies

Dier Dembele

Ericksen Alli Son

Kane

Bench :
Vorm Aurier Rose Fyoth Wanyama Lamela Moura
BORN TO BE A SPURS FAN.

Agree with the team but if both match fit Iíd have Aurier and Rose in simply because Pool have Mane and Salah....speed thing.

Davies and Trippier back in for the Newport game and full games for Wanyama ,Lamela and Toby after injury with a first game for Lucas. Kane, Vertonghen and Dier need the Newport game off but keep them on the bench if needed .

Absolutely no idea what to predict. This game can go either way.

The great thing is that we will probably be able to have the strongest bench since I support Spurs.

Let's say our XI is as follows:

Lloris
Trippier Sanchez Vertonghen Rose
Dembele Dier
Son Eriksen Dele
Kane

We still can have bench like that:
Vorm, Davies, Toby, Wanyama, Moura, Lamela, Llorente (I assume Toby might ot be thrown straight in XI as he was not even on the bench against United)

and it leaves the likes of Aurier, Sissoko, Foyth, KWP + injured Winks out of the match 18

I agree with griff., I just remembered Davies getting ripped apart by Mane last season and I am not confident in Trippiers defending.

Iím hoping we can adapt our game rather than give these guys lots of space with the high press. Defend with 6 and have 4 attackers being a pain.

Lots of movement, and random positions.

this has more to be intrigued about than the united game, there are so many more permutations in this match I think than the united game, i felt we had won that even befor kick off, but this!!!! :niceone:

Not sure I saw last nights performance coming tbh Journo, this one is unpredictable because our oppos are just that, unpredictable.

I fear them less without Coutinho though.

thats fair comment, but as you say so unpredictable. In a way a bit like us some games we should win we play awful and loose or at best get a draw, yet teams we've thought we might struggle against we've put to the sword. Would hate to bet on this in a logical fashion, only bet spurs to win with heart ruling head!! :niceone:

The problem I have with our team is that we don't turn up at away grounds at other top five teams. If we play with confidence and believe we are going we have a chance but after looking at our performances against City and Arse Anal I am not very confident.

Hate playing at Anfield , definitely a bogey ground for us. Canít even think when our last good performance was apart from the last win and that was an
end of season nothing game.

However , i believe the dippers are still as fragile at the back with Van Diike , Klopp isnít capable of getting a team to defend as a unit , itís just not in him. If Kane repeats his holdup play like against Utd heíll win free kicks all afternoon. Getting the first goal is crucial too.

Itís tactical naivety. You can dominate smaller teams away, and peers at home, but not top teams at their own grounds.

That comment about Klopp and Liverpoolís defence is spot on. Liverpoolís defence is poor as is their defensive midfield. Their reliance is on a superb attack though that might not be as good without Coutinho.
Man Uniteds defence is not especially strong even though statistics flatter them. United do not play as a unit. I think Mourinho is slowly losing the players as he did with Chelsea during his last year.
Arsenal ,although they still reach and win finals ,are badly run. Levy has, with one exception, got all our players on new contracts long before they are coming to an end. Their defence is very, very breathable.
Chelsea are in turmoil, manager in dispute with the board. Conte wants to leave at the end of the season. He complains about having a small squad but Chelsea have 30odd players out on loan I believe.
Poch has problems with his substitutions now and again but letís be honest he has completely improved our team, the spirit is superb. Our defensive unit is the best in the top 6.

Best way to counter Mane ,Firmino and Salah is to play the following team

Lloris
Trippier...Sanchez...Vertonghen...Davies
Aurier...Dembele....Eriksen...Rose
Kane....Son

I await the insults

I think that's an excellent formation. I enjoy reading your posts, the world would be a duller place if it were not for your insight and knowledge.

I particularly like the four fullback system, it's not working for Wenger, but if we can make it work it'll be another feather in our cap.

Continue the good work Griff :niceone:

Do you know what that is a very interesting line up. With Diets performances away to top 6 teams a day on the bench might be good for him. It gives us an option to bring in Dele as an impact sub by taking off one of our many fbs Its a very defense minded formation with tons of potential for lightening quick counter-attacking options.
Keep the game tight for an hour an hit them hard in the last half when they begin to tire and lose heart
To Dare is to Do Now is the Hour
