The football writers and PFA are both listing their team of the year, whatís ours?

Players like Rose or Alderweireld cannot be chosen because not enough games played.Heres mine in 4-2-3-1

DE GEA
WALKER......OTAMENDI........VERTONGHEN.......ALONSO
DEMBELE.....FERNANDINHO
SALAH...........ERIKSEN........DE BRUYNE
KANE

Mind you Ben Davies was only just behind Alonso.

Good team Griff.

Sane, Sterling and Silva probably all in with a shout too. City have been so dominant you could easily pick 7-8 of their lot.

Dembele only moved into top gear relatively recently, but the quality of opposition he dominated should see him in the toty.

Still a few games left though. Maybe some more of ours can make a late charge if we get 2nd place.

The sadness is the fact that only two English players would be considered.

Canít agree mate. Robertson is not better than Davies .
The idea is to pick a team not the best 11 players. Youíve chosen 6 attacking players, with nobody to win the ball at all . Wonderful to watch mind you.

I agree the roberston/alonso/Davies LB slot is a tricky one

I just havenít been that impressed with many holiding midfielders tbh...Kante - not a patch on last season....dembo/dier in and out the team for us.....can/Henderson? No way.....I suppose your choice of Fernandinho is decent - he has been pretty good

Got 9 of the 11 right Griff... well done!

Bit ridiculous they do it before 2nd-19th spots are decided.

De Gea

Walker, Vertonghen, Otamendi, Alonso

De Bruyne, D Silva, Eriksen

Salah, Kane, Aguero

Think they've been a bit generous to Aguero, he's had far better seasons and not featured in TOTY so think they're trying to make up for that. Silva deserved it... perhaps harsh on Sterling, Sane, Fernandinho, Matic and Dembele to not be included - they did go for all attacking players in midfield.

So we have...

1 Man United
1 Liverpool
1 Chelsea
3 Spurs
5 Man City

The PFA team is not balanced.Very well done to Harry again and especially to Eriksen and Vertonghne, about time they had the credit they deserved.

How cane Sane Be one of the six nominations for the Player of the Year award and not be in the Team of the Year whilst the other 5 nominees are in it?

Mine would be:

De Gea

Walker, Vertonghen, Otamendi , Alonso

De Bruyne, D Silva, Eriksen

Salah, Kane, Sane

Think Most of the team picks itself. The only one I would say is down to my opinion is Sane and I almost put Sterling because even though he has missed a million chances I think hes had a very good season.

There were plenty of attacking midfielders who were outstanding for long periods of the season while DMs were generally good but not great. I agree Fernandinho and Dembele had good seasons, but Dembo was injured for a long time and Fernandinho - although playing in a different role - was not as good as Silva, Eriksen, KDB, Sane, Sterling, Salah or Son and in the end of the day this team is not meant to be balanced but to include 11 most outstanding players throughout the season.

Sane or Sterling should be in it instead of Aguero and Davies instead of Alonso but otherwise I would pick the same team. The weakest link in the team is left back, there was no obvious candidate.

Edit: I almost forgot - not Sane and not Sterling but Firmino instead of Aguero. He's had an absolutely amazing season.

I thought Silva missed a fair bit of time due to the personnel issue of his premature childs birth. Understandable, but it took a bit out of him.

and yet he still managed 11 assists and 8 goals, and despite his personal issues and not playing a full season still looked like best player on the pitch most of the games he played. Probably one of the most underrated players of the premier league era, wish we'd signed him instead of them!

True, he was a part of the City team that was sweeping everyone away in the first part of the season and their results slowed up when he was out (or it seemed they did). I'm going to have a look at the stats tomorrow as Sane was also flying and got injured and as someone else stated, Sterling has had a good return and he wasn't starting while Silva was flying early season. De Bruyne and Silva were frightening at one point and you may well be right.
