Kane and Lamela should have scored. We played alright, won the battle in the middle of the park and if it weren't for a mistake by Trippier we'd have handled everything they threw at us. Hugo made some decent saves too, not sure the calls for dropping him were based on this game.

Sissoko was decent, not his best game for us at all imo but 3 alright games in a row. He knows his role now and his teammates know what they can use him for and what he's bad at. Some great play by him to burst in the box at one point but as he so often does, picked the wrong final ball.

They weren't much better than us and playing without Dele and Eriksen for most of the gamd and Vertonghen being out I think it showed once again we're not as bad as people make out.

I don't know, it would of been interesting if the game was played on a smooth surface, Silva and Sterling had chances to kill the game but we had chances to level. Even though we had moments to level you always felt city had another gear to up it, The pitch was the leveler.

Only saw the first half before going out, will watch the rest tomorrow. Thought we were very poor in the final third. On three or four occasions when we burst forward at speed and looked like causing a problem Man City disrupted the attack by fouling.
Playing both Trippier and Davies was suicide. Poch promotes youth, yeh sure, just tell that to Walker-Peters.

This stadium thing is really affecting us now ... Poch getting frustrated, maybe Lamela would have scored that chance If on a better pitch not a bloody NFL battered Wembley! So much uncertainty around the club....this season may end up being a write off - including NO top 4 and champions league

The stadium situation is a mess Dan. The statement read it could be ready before Christmas but the club knew people had to organise travel plans & etc so opted to announce the games at Wembley rather than leave it up in the air.

Although it was not the news we wanted, at least this time it was considerate of the fans rather than just apologising to the NFL. Obviously they gave it a bit more thought.

We were never going to be challenging for the title because the team is not good enough , this title talk is embarrassing it just make us look delusional, Our aim at max should be a cup and top four.

Still making the Top Four seems to be a long way.
One positive things was the display of Winky. He is getting better and better.

I'm starting to think Mr Winks should be starting ahead of Dembele and his swinging arms.

Tripper just gets done for pace when he's up against a fast player, last time it was Martial and that's why Walker was always a better option. Not too much apart from that we can complain about really. I can see why we can't play the 3 centre back system compared to a flat back four now. Man City are a simply a better team and we should have come away with a draw which would have been a good result. Sanchez was a rock.

Realistically, to appease us all short term I think the club needs to nail down contracts on Dele and Eriksen. Toby seems keen on returning to Holland later in his career so try and get a short term contract until he's 32ish. Pretty much everyone else are proving their worth in the squad, including Sissoko, so not much dead wood.

Finally bite the bullet and just say the new ground opens start of next season and stop mucking us all about with unknowns.

Dan, Lamela was leaning back anyway when he took the shot.

That is true , the only thing Dembele is ahead of winks is only power in the midfield department.

Yeah winks was very good . Positive passing forward . We were a different team when Ali, eriksen abd him came on .
Our defence donít half f*** about with it though , constantly passing it backwards, when they could actually look up and play it forward . So many passbacks to loris , then he either launches it off the field , or plays it to a defender and puts them in trouble .
Or he then launches it up field , which the defender could do anyway . It just gets us knowwhere fast .
Recycled football . Get the f***ing thing forward !!

Last point , did anyone see sissoko corner he gave away . Lmao ....

yeah that was dreadful. He and Trippier play like strangers on that flank a lot, feel he has slightly better rapport with Aurier.

Agree Winks was good but we dominated in the middle of the park and I think that was in no small part down to the physicality of Dier, Dembele and Sissoko. We'd have sacrificed that a bit with Winks, but might have gained more going forwards.
