Trophy would be priority to shut everyone up. Perfect scenario that would make us all laugh is we end up if the Europa League and win it and either Chelski or the Goons finish fourth and miss out on Champions League. Can but dream....

I don't know, the Europa league is a long formatted competition, playing tin pan clubs you never heard of on a thursday night with a silly euro song . Our players are picking up groins and hamstring strains because there body is overworked and not having a proper break from the world cup. I would not mind the Europa league in another season , not this season, our players are leggy and we don't have the squad big enough to keep players fresh enough to win it. The best senario is fa cup and finish in the top 3. Arsenal and Manutd will only win it if they have a s*** season in the league.

You guys make valid points to a degree but it's only 2 more games than the CL would be and many of the distant Eastern European teams will be knocked out. It's the group stage that's the real ball ache.

Teams likely to progress include AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting, Arsenal, Villareal, Lazio, Sevilla and Chelsea.

Winning trophies is a habit, yes our squad will be stretched if we continue in all comps but Europa is a good trophy to win. It's worth more than it was financially, CL qualification for the winners & etc.

We're going to need to strengthen in Jan regardless.

I agree Tom. Itís the business end of the europa and we are certainly capable of winning it.
The group stages are the killer . Going to Eastern Europe on a Thursday and then having to play pl on a Sunday .

Teams likely to drop in the Europa league could be Liverpool, Napoli or PSG. This year's competition is not as easy as previous seasons.

I was referring to the early parts of the competition, they is a lot of tin pot clubs in the earlier rounds, Arsenals 21 unbeaten run is because they faced a lot of tin pot clubs with there reserve team . Any competition that lets teams that have failed in another competition come in this competition is tin pot.

The last time we played in the Europa league we went out against Gent because the player could not motivate themselves.

But if we drop into it now what relevance are the earlier rounds?
