Think people are underestimating the impact Sissoko going off had on our shape. United exploited the fact that Trippier didn't have the inside pass to Sissoko as his easy outlet. He still could have done better but someone needed to drop so he didn't have to try a riskier pass.

Can't help but think if Sissoko hadn't have tried to play on we wouldn't have been caught cold so soon after the sub.

Three years ago Spurs was the best team in the country despite Leicester becoming champions. We had the finest back four in Walker...Alderweireld...Vertonghen...Rose. Behind these was the superb Loris and in front ,at that time ,the excellent Dier and Dembele. Our full backs were exceptionally fast and we played quite a bit by using them as wing backs.
Walker has gone and been replaced by the much slower Trippier. Rose seems to be getting back to a high level after injury. Toby is 30 March and Jan is 32 in April. Rose and Trippier are 28.
There is no way these are going to be as effective in a high line especially as Loris and Dier have gone backwards and Dembele has been seen only fleetingly. If Poch continues to play high line then some serious rebuilding is going to be needed.

Very good post . Totally agree .
