Plus, their squad is quite s***e, so hardly an exciting proposition considering the expectation level involved.
I see your point of view. For the record by the way I was not opposed to signing Howe and doing a Pochettiino 2.0 at Spurs.
Long-term sustainable youth development has merits. We has success and stopped doing it.
However, I would have feared Arsenal more with a manager like Simeone who could sure up the defence.
Then again, if Mourinho is struggling with us, it probably is a player or squad recruitment problem, and I agree manager doesn't necessarily solve that unless sporting direction is addressed.
We'll only really see next season who is doing better with what they took over.

I'd take a young and fresh manager over a manager who finds it hard to move with the times. Arteta may need a defensive coach in his back room staff, but he played as an anchor midfielder, so although thought of as a more attacking player for that role, he shouldn't be clueless about how he wants a defence to operate in an attacking team.

Poch never took them seriously so I’m hoping next season Jose has a real go at winning us a trophy in ALL competitions

I was hoping that Man UTD would beat Chelsea today so that it wasn't an all-London FA Cup that we were not involved in... oh well. I don't live in London (obviously

Yep, he won them an FA Cup last season, they've won it numerous times during their decline over the last decade. It's papering over cracks on a vast magnitude systematically. Their recruitment has been nothing short of diabolical in terms of addressing their needs. They buy the likes of Pepe just to appease the fans...........It's very short lived.

We keep hearing they are in decline but they keep winning the odd trophy.
Funny old side they have right now because they are very unpredictable.
Glad we have levy as our owner and not kroenke , or is it kranke ? anyway he's a ( endangered wildlife trophy hunter )
Very cowardly ! as wild animals cant stand up to high powered rifles / technology etc.

It sort of stands as conclusive proof that the FA Cup is something all of it's own. Nice to win it, but in terms of progress, it really isn't any sort of benchmark.
