Contract up next year at bayern ! would come on a free.

At 32 is he too old for us ?

Jose keen but who knows if that is correct ?

Inter are annoyed we only offered half their valuation for skriniar and now are reluctant to deal with levy.

Is jerome the answer for cb ?

Also why isnt rodon getting a few minutes ?

I saw that also, and why rondon is not getting time no idea. I do not consider personally 32 is to old.

Very short term if anything.

2 year contract and maybe rodon can learn from having top grade cbs working with him ! not just boateng but ledley.

Rodon could be top class within 2 years.

We have Toby as the experienced cb. No need in my opinion. We have two up and coming in Rodon and Tanganga plus our currently best centre back, Dier. If we are to bring in another centreback he has to be better than anything we have, which Skriniar on paper is. Oh, we have Sanchez too.

We certainly have a problem at centre back. Toby has lost a yard of pace and is not the dominant presence he was a few years back - maybe losing Jan was the catalyst for this. With the best will in the world, Sanchez is too full of mistakes and even with the likes of Ledley to coach him, I cannot see that he will turn into teh player we had such high hopes. Dier is a classic case of square pegs in round holes - i just do not see him as a top class centre back. We have not seen anything of Rondon, but centre backs do tend to be more senior members of the side and as far as Tangaga is concernerned he has injury issues.

So would I be in favour of Boateng - well as a stop gap for a couple of seasons, maybe. He is not the answer but he may be the sort of player the likes of Rondon need to develop his game. MAybe you could say the same about John Stones

The Likes of Rodon and Tanganga have time to improved. Stones isn't going to, so no point in him.

The thing Boateng has over all our centre backs bar Sanchez and Japhet is pace. Even at 32, he's faster than Dier, Toby and Rodon. Nearly all our centrebacks are the strong type like Dawson. Even Skirniar, albiet better than what we have, is in the same mould, maybe a bit quicker.

If we are to buy a centreback, it should be a quick one and ideally confident on the ball, and around the 26/27 mark. A Ledley/ Rio type, but there's not many of them about. De Ligt and Zakaria fit the bill but they're both a bit young in my eyes and more of a potential player.

His experience alone could be of value to our defenders. Id do a 2 year deal on a free with rolling year by year to follow.
