Sadly never a Spurs player.
Diego Maradonna was, after Pele, the greatest player I have ever seen.
Yes maybe you cheated and maybe you were a drug taker, but you were a genius.
RIP Diego - I doubt we will see your like again

If anybody is in any doubt of his genius, I would recommend them watching last year’s documentary that highlights his career with Napoli. It also goes some way to explain his journey into addiction. A true great - along with Pele, Best, Messi and Christiano Ronaldo. All players that pushed the boundaries of excellence further.

Not doubting his footballing ability / talent but the bloke was a cheat.
He confessed / confirmed later that he scored that goal with his hand. (as if all of us didnt see that )
In my view not in the same category of such greats as pele, bobby moore, bobby charlton etc when it comes to integrity & sportsmanship.
Imagine how sick those england lads must have been to reach the quarter finals only to be cheated out of possibly progressing further by him ! in what was probably the biggest tournament of their careers.
Shilton has often said maradona admitted using his hand to score but has never apologised.
As revered as he is in the football world i just remember him for cheating and that shouldnt be the case.

A lot of players have scored by punching the ball into the net - there was an incident only this week in the Prem, but it was seen by the ref

To cheat on a giant stage like the world cup with millions of people watching is unacceptable.
These days he would have been sent off for deliberate hand ball.
Some of those england players were devastated to be cheated like that especially as for some of them they would never get to play in the tournament again being as the competition is played out every 4 years.
To be recognised as some sort of football icon afterwards is twisted logic.
Of course it goes on these days also! thats why we have to have all this var stuff.
