Tottenham V Portsmouth FT 2 - 0

Jermain Defoe returns to Lane for the first time after his January transfer to Portsmouth. Inevitably he will score on saturday in the days early kick off (Live on Sky Sports 1), but will Spurs have enough in the tank after midweek's 8 goal thriller with Chelsea.

Another concern is David James who is literally on fire, will Berba and Keane be able stick them past him or will the veteran stopper keep Spurs at bay?!

I think that maybe we should play with a simialar formation to what we played in the second half against Chelsea, put Bnet and Keane up front with Berba just behind.

I notice Sol 'judas' Campell is an injury doubt for this match.... Funny how he always seeems to pick up a knock before his return to the Lane.
I agree that Defoe will score against us, but after the belief and 'comeback ability' we showed last night against Chelski we will beat Pompey 3-1.

Sol whined to the media after we beat them at Fratton park about abuse he received. If it was racist then it's wrong, but he deserves everything else he gets. He's not the most stable of people so I guess 34,000 Spurs fans shouting "W****r'" isn't the best way to spend a saturday afternoon!

I know its childish of me but im glad Defoe cant play and i hope we spank Pompey just to really rub his nose in it. I see why he left us dont get me wrong but what i didnt like was all the bull he came out with, im Spurs through and through blah blah blah; he stood there saying how much he loved the club and all this and that and now he wants to come to the lane and bang in a few goals well his fire was well and truely pi**ed on grinny.gif

Defoe was one player i had high hoped for. Owell.

I normally rate Jenas and don't think much of Zokora but Jenas was non-existent in the first half against Chelsea and Zokora never stopped running and tackling. When Huddlestone came on for Jenas we stopped knocking long balls up to Berbatov (as Terry and Carvalho were picking most of them up anyway) and started passing...and it worked, Huddlestone made a huge difference.

If they aren't shagged out from Wednesday, I'd stick with Huddlestone and Zokora in the middle.

Let Jenas earn his place back.

think jenas will be back, I feel there is going to be a lot of rotation between now and the summer, I take us to win 3-1, but happy with 1-0.

Teams to play today are

Spurs:
Robbo
Hutton
Woodgate
Dawson
Chimbonda
Lennon
Huddlestone
Zokora
Malbranque
Berbatov
Keane

Subs:
Cerny
Kaboul
Tainio
O'Hara
Bent

Pompey:
James
Johnson
Distin
Hreidarsson
Aubey
Utaka
Mendes
Davis
Hughes
Kranjcar
Kanu

Subs
Ashdown
Baros
Nugent
Mvuemba
Wilson

This should be a very open and end to end game with both teams set up to play so attacking football, thankfuly Pompey will have the Fa cup in mind hence why i assume Diarra isnt playing, have to watch out for Mendes and Kranjcar both have thunderbolt shots on them.

Hoping to see Zokora net his first goal for Spurs today

A game we pritty much dominated, and killed it off with no time for Pompey to get back into it, well played all over from the lads. Glad to see O'Hara score and lets hope we see more of the same from Bent in the games to come.
