Dear members of Planet Spurs,

I want to inform you on behalf of the Planet Spurs staff about the current nuisance we have been experiencing due to attacks by spam bots.

During the last week we have been facing an influx of registration by spam bots that have been trashing the forums with spam posts and topics. We are trying to keep the nuisance to a minimum, by taking action as soon as possible by deleting these spam posts and topics.

Unfortunately, the staff has not been able to reach out to the site's chief admins to take more drastic measures to stop this problem. Therefore, we can only manually delete the spam for the time being.

We hope to take permanent action against the problem. We will keep you informed about new developments.

We appreciate it if you would help the staff out by detecting and deleting the spam by reporting spam posts and topics and contacting any member of the staff (admins & moderators) via PM (Personal Message).

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation

Dear members,

To give you an update on the situation:

We have enabled admin validation upon registration. This means everyone who wants to register as a new member will have to get his/her registration validated by one of the admins. We hope this will prevent new spam bots to get access to the forum.

We are still getting registration requests from spam bots. However, we hope these will cease as soon as they will notice they are not able to gain access to the forum anymore.
