So off to play PSV in the second leg, being a goal down, a new experience for us that I think will be a stern test, although I fully expect us to progress further at the expense of PSV. Nno doubt they will be bouyed, with their victory in the first leg that gives them the vital away goal, but it could have an adverse effect on them, do they go all out for another goal, or try to defend what they already have? Either way I feel that the pressure will be on them.
We need just to go out take our time and get our passes going and Im sure we will soon see the scores level, or on the other hand we have the option of coming out all guns blazing to go for an early strike, but I'm sure Senor Ramos will adopt the right tactics. We were unlucky to concede that goal and it was only a wee mistake, and when you take into account the guy that made that mistake had been out injured for some time and it was his first game with us. He has in my opinion soon made ammends, and it will be a real shame if that is the goal that puts us out-But Hey that is not going to happen!
The way we played against the Hammers last Sunday was a very controlled game and a repeat of that should see us safely through, although as they have shown PSV also play a very good game, but under pressure? If we can maintain our best backline which im sure will be on display and our forwards are on the attack then we should be ok. With some of the pin point accuracy of Huddlestones crosses, combine that also with Lenons trickery we will certainly have the ability to confuse and hopefully wear down their resistance. When you have a full back like Gilberto also joining in the attack that will give them even more of a headache.
I know we have the ability really to control all areas and we must not let them take control. A good solid defence, and take, and make our scoring chances count we should be ok. I think its not beyond us to win this tie and take us to do so 3-1.
COME ON YOU SPURS
