After the signing of Luka Modric from Dynamo Zagreb last month, Spurs boss Juande Ramos is set to make his second move to tighten up the midfield for next season by reportedly offering Blackburn Rovers the £15m asking price attached to winger David Bentley.
Following the strengthening of the Spurs defence in January, the midfield has been widely regarded as the weak-link on the team, and Bentley, 23, has become a hot topic for press after making a massive impact at Blackburn, and subsequently breaking into the England first team as a replacement to David Beckham.
Bentley was said to be being monitored by Liverpool and Chelsea but speculation suggests that he is on his way to North London.
Mark Hughes was quoted saying only last month that Bentley would not make a big summer move out of Blackburn, but if the price is right he could well be on his way out. Tags: Tottenham Hotspur, Spurs, Bentley, Ramos, Transfer Talk, Rumours

His first big move? What about Hutton, Woodgate and obviously Modric? |

I know bentley has said he is considering a move to further his international ambitions, and I for one would much prefer him to Lennon. |

What shoddy journalism.Ramos first big move indeed. There was I thinking Ramos had signed Modric for a big fee!!!! |

Correct me if I\'m wrong but to \'swoop\' for a player would mean signing him. Even if Ramos did make a bid ( doubtful) it would have to be accepted by Blackburn and Bentley would also then have to agree terms and sign for Spurs. So in other words, this story is pure waffle. |

A good signing which would definately be welcomed at WHL. Forget his history he is ambititious and would give us 100% every game. Although I do fear that this signing might signal the departure of Lennon which would be a real shame. |

fantastic signing if it is true, i think we should keep lennon aswell, we need a bigger squad of quality, and lennon could learn from him. he could also play in a central role instead of jenas. |

Midfield this season has definately been a weakest point as average teams have frequently steam rolled right through it. We need a defensive midfielder as Zokora is rubbish and Huddlestone is to slow and inconsistant, yet in fairness, still young so would rather we kept him. |

how is Lennon a future star? He has been in the starting eleven for 3 season now and has not improved, there is still no end product to his runs. Bentley would be a far better option, saving Lennon for tactical substitutions |

I AM NOT A GREAT ADMIRER OF BENTLY MAYBE I HAVE NOT SEEN HIM PLAY WELL , BUT WHAT SPRINGS TO MIND IS CONSISTENCY AND WE HAVE THAT BY THE BUCKET LOAD . |
