Chelsea Enter Race for £20m Berbatov?

A report from The Daily Express is suggesting that Chelsea boss Avram Grant is ready to prise away in-form Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov from Spurs.

The report, which surfaced in The Daily Express this morning (10/04/2008), suggests that Chelsea are prepared to fight off stiff competition from the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid with an incredible £20m bid, almost double what Spurs paid for the striker only two years ago.

With further reports today saying that Didier Drogba has agreed a 3 year deal with AC Milan, Avram Grant could see Berbatov as a replacement for the Ivorian hitman next season.

Although nothing has been said by Bulgarian himself, quotes from Ramos suggest that even he is unsure of Berbatov's future at the club.
