Young Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara has pledged his long term future to the club by signing a new three year deal at the club which will see him through till the summer of 2011.
O’Hara has grown in stature at White Hart Lane this season following his debut against Portsmouth in December, and has continued to be a regular name on Juande Ramos’ team sheet, with a number of sturdy performances.
Tottenham Hotspur Head Coach Juande Ramos told the official spurs website: "Jamie has earned his time on the pitch this season. He has come a long way in a short space of time so I congratulate him and this new contract is recognition of his efforts. If he continues in the same vein he will become a very important player for us."
"Jamie is an example to all the young players at the Club in that reaching the First Team can be achieved through hard work and giving the best of yourself."
Jamie O’Hara is clearly delighted with his new contract and is looking forward to take his ability to the next level with Spurs next season.
"The boss is building a squad that is going to be up there challenging for honours and to be told that I am part of his long-term plans by giving me a three-year deal is good for me. I just want to keep showing him that I want to progress and become one of the top players at Tottenham Hotspur." Jamie said speaking of his new contract.
"To have another three seasons at the club that I have always wanted to play for is great and now I just can’t wait for pre-season to begin."
O’Hara has shown his potential this season, however with a number of top quality signings thought to be on the way, along with the signing of Croatian international Luka Mordic, he will have to continue to work hard to keep his place in the squad.
