After an impressive performance against a strong England Under 21 team last night, young Spurs defender Chris Gunter has rightly drawn the plaudits from Wales Under 21 coach Brian Flynn.
Gunter’s display has also reportedly attracted the attention of several Championship sides, with Wolves the chief party interested in taking the defender on a season long loan, however would a loan truly be in the best interests of the club?
On a first thoughts it may seem that first team opportunities are limited at the club for Gunter with the likes of Hutton, Woodgate, King and Bale in the core of Spurs defensive plans, however as a promising prospect for the future a season of regular first team football on loan to a championship side would be good experience for the player.
When taking into consideration the possibility players leaving White Hart Lane during the summer, such as Stalteri joining Fulham on a permanent basis, Chimbonda’s disillusion at Spurs, and the likes of Ekotto and Lee surplus to requirements, a player like Chris Gunter may be a useful player to add depth to the defence.
Gunter is a versatile player who can play right across the back four, and has played well for Spurs when given the opportunity, so with all factors considered the short answer would be no, it would not be wise to allow Gunter to leave on loan.

if he is good enough he should be included in the team squad age should not come into it as he needs to know what ramos exspects as he has a different way of how football should be played ,than championship managers.so he will grow with the team making it easier to cope with and turn him into a real asset which i think he will be |

Well the players that are going to leave dont really get any playing time and when they have havent put in 100% effort to make sure that that place in the team is theirs. Gunter is young and needs as many minutes on the pitch as possible. I would loan out Gunter, Taarabt, Rose and Pekhart to championship sides if they want them so that they can get time on the pitch which they arnt likely to get at Spurs and build on the clear skills and qualities that all of these players have. All the top clubs do this so why shouldnt we. Blood them into the Spurs setup when they are almost ready not when they are still very raw. |

Ye why not get some experience with bale fit for the new season and just make sure there is a clause saying we can have him back at any point!!
Also no JJ to be sold Modric in his place and Zokora is one of few who have earned their place, when he scores for the first time he will get a hat full!!
New team:
Kamyeni (Or whatever that espanyol keeper is called
Hutton, King (if fit if not new signing, i mean fully fit here not just can play), Woody, Bale
Bentley, Modric, Zokora, Capel
Keane, *New striker* (Whoever it will be but they need to be quality and not sulk, at the moment i am happy for berba to leave because we can find a player who actually cares for the cause!!!)
And no i am never in favour of having lots of defenders on the bench, if he is versatile then just him on the bench no dawson, dawson is good but not great!!

It is a hard question. A loan may be beneficial for Gunter's development in the long term but I guess it depends how big a part Ramos feels Gunter will play in the first team. |

Play him or loan him out, look at O'Hara. He went on loan and came back and broke straight into the first team.
Playing on loan in the championship/1 div is good for young players. But off course, we can not loan him out unless there is cover in the backline. Definitively give him some chance in the first team, at least in cup games. By the way I salute Keane a brilliant player who deserves a good partner in attack. Target man please. |

THE LAD SHOULD BE RIGHTLY MADE A MORE OR LESS PERMANENT SQUAD MEMBER WITH THE PENDING DEPARTURES , HE WILL GAIN GREAT EXPERIENCE FROM THIS AFTER ALL THE LAD HAS PLAYED CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTY WITH CARDIFF AND THIS SUGGESTION OF OUT ON LOAN TO WOLVES IS NOT GOING TO MAKE HIM ANY BETTER FOR THE PREMIERSHIP . |

He is very good player. Then he had a chance on the pitch last season he played brilliant and he is just 19 age old. I think he would get first team football next season and will be good replacement for Hutton, so don\\\'t loan him!!! |

loan him until january but keep him on stand-by if any injuries moccur.
Bale is much more quality as well as hutton and chimbonda if kept so loaning him out can't harm him. |

I think if the management looked a gunter to loan out we'd have left him at cardiff til end of season, gunter, bale, bostock, hudd, taarabt, rose, pekhart, dervitte.....the futures bright, the futures lilywhite! |

with all the plaudits that Gunter has recieved since the under 21 game.I would say a resounding NO we need to keep him in reserve if need be in case of injuries, but he could be put in the 1st team at any time I believe he is that good.I think he will turn out to be a top class player in a couple of years. So no loan out I can see where Wolves are coming from.He is and will be a SPURS player. |
